Charles Harrison Tormey, age 82, passed away peacefully at Saint Joseph Living Center on Sunday October 17th, surrounded by his family. Charles retired from Pratt & Whitney after 31 years. He was a life member of the Willimantic Elks Club and the Franco American Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling and playing cards. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Susie (Suzanne Desautels) and their three children & their spouses: Michael & Cathy Tormey of Willimantic, Denise & Scott Duplisea of Willimantic, and Joanne & Steven Frederick of Mansfield; seven grandchildren: Christina, Michael & Valerie Tormey, Brian Price & his wife Kara, Stephen Cote, Jennifer & Amanda Frederick; and two great-grandchildren: twins Chloe & Blake Price. He is also survived by his mother Sara Tormey, sister Carol Rowe, and brother John Tormey and his wife Norma. He was predeceased by his father, John Tormey. Family and friends may call at Potter Funeral Home at 456 Jackson Street, (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday October 21st from 6:00 to 8:00pm and Friday October 22nd from 9:00 to 9:30am followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Columba Church (junction of routes 66 and 87 in Columbia) at 10:00 am and Christian burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
