Charles E. Eldridge, 66, of Station Rd., Scotland, husband of Barbara (Woodward) Eldridge, died Friday May 30, 2003 at home. He was born May 30, 1937 in Willimantic the son of Harold and Ruth (L'Hommedieu) Eldridge. He had been employed by Builders Concrete for many years prior to his retirement. Mr. Eldridge was a member of the NRA and had been a member of the Connecticut National Guard for 8 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters; Susan Magnan and her husband Keith of Douglasville, GA. and Tammy Montgomery and her husband John of Willimantic, a son Charles H. Eldridge of Willimantic, 8 grandchildren; Stephanie and Wesley Magnan, Joshua, Amy and Alyssa Montgomery and Cheyenne, Brandon and Brian Eldridge, a sister and brother in law Virginia and Theodore Gellert of Abington, a step brother and sister in law Cecil and Betty Scott of Grosse Pointe Park, MI., a step sister Marie Eldridge of Windham, a sister in law and brother in law Barbara and John Woodward of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Donald Eldridge. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at the funeral home with the Rev. James Beesley officiating. Burial will follow in the Scotland Cemetery. His family suggests memorial donations to the American Lung Assoc. of CT., 45 Ash St., E.Hartford, CT. 06108-3272 or to the Scotland Volunteer Fire Dept., Brook Rd., Scotland, Ct. 06264.
