Charles "Charlie" Edward Brown

Charles "Charlie" Edward Brown, 57, of Ashford, CT died suddenly on Nov. 15, 2012. He was born in Torrington, CT, son of the late Philip and Betty Jane (Wedge) Brown. He is survived by his wife, Cindy (White) Brown, his daughter Jennifer, his sister Linda and her husband Paul Skarupa and several nieces and nephews. Always interested in electronics, Charlie started working in radio after his graduation from Torrington High School. He was a member of the radio community in Connecticut for almost 40 years, working as a producer and audio engineer at WTIC, WPOP, WHCN and most recently at the Clear Channel Communications group of radio stations in Hartford, CT. He had many interests including photography, traveling, model railroading and antique radios. His travels took him many places, several times to the American Southwest. Charlie especially enjoyed the time he and his family spent at their vacation home on Maryland's Eastern Shore. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Nov. 23rd between 5:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Nov. 24th at 1:00pm at Eastford Congregational Church, 8 Church Rd., Eastford, CT. Interment in Central Cemetery, Woodstock will be private.
