Charles Francis Carrow

Charles Francis Carrow, 74, from Mansfield, CT entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 3, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved lifelong partner of Virginia "Ginger" Carrow. He was born on August 31, 1940 to parents Irene Vidal Carrow and Everett Walter Carrow, in Pittsfield, MA. He attended Lanesboro and Pittsfield Schools and graduated in 1958. He joined the Air Force in 1958 and was honorably discharged. He worked at various jobs and then stayed at the University of Connecticut until retirement. His life's treasures were his children and grandchildren, he loved taking them on trips to historical places such as Philadelphia, Plymouth Rock and Salem, Massachusetts. Charles had many hobbies including collecting antique model automobiles, crossword puzzles, playing cribbage, gardening, fishing, hunting and was an award winning dart shooter. He was a member and past president of the Polish American Citizens Club. He was a Civil War buff and loved to visit the battlefields. His favorite hobby of all was hanging out with his family and vacationing in York, Maine. Charles is predeceased by his mother and father, and his brother Jack Carrow. Along with Virginia Carrow, Charles leaves behind, daughter Debra Bertora and her husband Paul; son Robert Seguin and his wife Nancy; daughter Michelle Hussey and her husband Bruce; daughter Jessica Hansen and her husband John; grandchildren Ashley Slater, Matthew Seguin, Meaghan Slater, Danielle Slater, Kevin Seguin, Stephanie Seguin, Jeremy Slater, Nicole Carrow, Giovanna Hussey, Bruce Hussey, Nick Bertora and Emily Bertora. He is also survived by his great granddaughter, Faith Slater, and his two sisters, Shirley Mochau, of Indiana and Mary Ellen and her husband, John Donna, of Massachusetts. Along with several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eagleville and Mansfield Fire Departments. Calling hours will be on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte 195) Willimantic, CT. The funeral will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. Mary's in Coventry, 1600 Main St., Coventry, CT, at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
