Catherine (Ryan) Muska, 89, formerly of Laurel La., Ashford, widow of Steve J. Muska, died Tuesday July 1, 2003 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. She was born Jan. 16, 1914 in Unionville. She was a 1934 graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. For many years, Catherine held the position of Assistant Head Nurse of Pediatrics at St. Francis Hospital. She later became the school nurse for several schools in the Windham area. She was a very active member of St. Philip Church in Ashford and was also a member of the Ashford Seniors. While residing at St. Joseph Living Center, she received a Certificate of Recognition from the center for her helping and serving other residents. Catherine was very proud of her Irish heritage and was a member of the Irish Club in Willimantic. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces great nephews, sisters in law and brothers in law. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte 195) Willimantic on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on SATURDAY at 10:00am at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Rte 44, Ashford, with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford.
