Catherine (Bombria) Moran, 80, of Mansfield, formerly of Willimantic, wife of Edward F. Moran, died Wednesday Oct. 13, 2004 at the Windham Hospital with her family at her side. Kay was born in Providence, R.I. on April 22, 1924 to the late George and Catherine (Burns) Bombria. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the Southern New England Telephone Co. for many years. Kay was a lifelong active member of St. Joseph Church in Willimantic where she devoted many years of volunteer service. She was a member of St. Joseph's Women's Club and was a participant in St. Joseph's Perpetual Adoration Society. Kay volunteered at area convalescent homes through the church and was often seen volunteering at Bingo in the church hall. She was a member of the Windham Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer for both the hospital and the Red Cross. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband Edward, 2 sons and daughters in law, Edward M. and Lynn Moran of Willimantic and Robert P. and Janet Moran of Sutton, VT; 4 daughters and sons in law, Linda M. and Spencer Adams of Hamden, Susan E. and Walter Goettlich of Waterford, VT., Ellen and Jack Noheimer of Columbia and Eileen and Jeffrey Ossen of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Mildred Varnum and 2 brothers, John and George Bombria. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, Kay's family suggests memorial donations to St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT. 06226 or to the American Cancer Society, 238 West Town St., Norwich, CT. 06360.
