Cassandra Sills Obituary
Cassandra Marie (Anderson) Sills, aged 38, passed away surrounded by love and warmth at Yale New Haven Hospital ICU in New Haven, Connecticut on April 18, 2024, after a long & courageous battle with Leukemia and its complications. Born on May 21, 1985, at Windham Hospital in Willimantic, Connecticut, Cassandra's infectious laughter and boundless creativity were a gift to all who knew her throughout her remarkable life.
Cassandra is survived by her partner, best friend and husband Davie Sills. She was the cherished daughter of Jeffrey Anderson and his wife Michele 'Mama' Cochran-Anderson, and Dianne-Marie Mellady Michel & her husband Don. She was the beloved sister to Ashlee Beaupre and her husband Brian, whose children Bastian and Aria brought so much love & laughter to Cassandra's life, Michele Renee Anderson and her fiancé Michael Lalonde, and Jennifer Anderson. Also survived by her Grandmother Mary Anderson, Aunt Nancy Moquin & husband Richard, Aunt Carol VanCedarfield, husband Mark and their son Matthew, Aunt Kim Benoit & husband TJ and their sons Daniel and Ethan, along with many more family members, cousins, and dear friends, who will all deeply miss Cassandra's vibrant spirit. Her furry companions, Little Wolf and Dusty, also held a special place in her heart.
Cassandra was a survivor who had previously triumphed over Leukemia at the age of 25, thanks to a life-saving stem cell transplant from her sister Ashlee. Despite the toll that chemotherapy and radiation took on her body, leading to liver failure at 37, she faced each challenge with optimism and grace. Rarely one to complain, Cassandra was the epitome of courage and positivity, with her devoted partner Davie as her steadfast source of support and comfort.
Her educational journey led her to graduate from Ellis Tech, where she studied Architectural Drafting. Cassandra's professional life was marked by her passion for customer service, having worked at Sears Hardware, Home Depot, M&T Jewelers, Shepard Plumbing, and TTM Technology. Her dedication to serving others and making them happy was evident in every interaction, as she strove to be exceptional in all her endeavors.
Fishing was one of Cassandra's greatest joys; she cherished the simple pleasure of being on a boat with Davie, basking in the sunshine, and feeling the serenity of nature. An artist at heart, she expressed her love for vibrant colors through nail art, painting, ceramics, and making Christmas ornaments. Cassandra's creative talents were generously shared with those around her, bringing beauty and joy into their lives.
Cassandra's laughter was indeed infectious, and her sense of humor, along with her bubbly and giggly personality, made her easy to love. As Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Cassandra's legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will forever remain a part of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Courageous, creative, and optimistic, Cassandra approached life with a brave face, never losing her ability to dream and create despite the challenges she faced. Her spirit, a blend of strength and gentleness, will be profoundly missed, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Cassandra Marie Sills life was a testament to the power of hope and the strength of the human spirit.
