Casey Dane Yates

DALLAS, TX - Casey Dane Yates, 24, of Lebanon, CT died July 5, 2011 after a tragic accident in Dallas. He was born in Willimantic, CT on July 24, 1986. A loving and devoted son, Casey was a passionate and caring young man with a unique sense of humor. He had a warm and inviting smile with an infectious laugh that brought true joy to all who knew him. Casey loved his music and helping people. He was an accomplished scholar, earning many awards in high school and college. He graduated from Lyman Memorial H.S. in 2005 and from University of Hartford in 2009 with a bachelor's degree, summa cum laude in Radiology/CT. He was currently a post- baccalaureate pre-med student at the University of Texas at Dallas. Casey was the son of Marie and Robert Quinn of Lebanon and Dane Yates of North Carolina. He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Kelsea Yates, Ryan and Heidi Quinn. His maternal grandparents, Raymond and Claire Mellady. His aunts and uncles, Marc and Deborah Mellady, Michael and Nanette Mellady, Joe Sumara, Stephen and Hillary McAneeny. His cousins, Jeremy, Amanda, Melinda, and Michael Mellady, Joshua and Nicholas Sumara, Chase, Shaun, and Patrick McAneeny, Cameron, Talan, and Adalyn Hancox. Casey will be sadly missed by all. His family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, July 12th at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday July 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp or Windham Hospital Foundation.
