Carroll Johnson Mattoon

Carroll Johnson Mattoon, 73, of North Windham, wife of 24 years to David Mattoon, passed away on March 2, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Carroll was born in Hartford, the daughter of Henry A and Marie (O'Hara) Johnson. Carroll was a professional property manager and for over 30 years served as the rental manager of Fountain Village Apartments in Manchester. She was a valued member of the Manchester Ambassadors Club and was extremely proud of serving as its first woman president. In retirement, Carroll was proud of her family and urged members to excel at their schoolwork, career, and personal development. Carroll is survived by her husband, her daughter Susan Olander of East Calais, VT; her son James Brundrett of East Hartford, CT; her step-daughter Amanda Mattoon of Keene, NH; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Dahltyn Brundrett, Jennifer Brundrett, Jordyn Brundrett, Rebecca Brundrett, Andrew Olander, Bailey Olander, Lilikali Smith, and Alexandria West; and nieces and nephew Scott Mader, Paige Mader, and Mackenzie Brown. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Susan Brown of McLean, VA, and her brother Henry Johnson of Keystone Heights, FL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 5 at 11:30am at First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main Street, Glastonbury, followed by a reception in the church hall where everyone is encouraged to share their favorite memories. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private in Windham Center Cemetery. Memorial donations in Carroll's honor may be made to a place she loved, the Connecticut River Museum, 67 Main Street, Essex CT 06426. Arrangements are through the Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic.
