Carolyn R. Sloan

Carolyn R. Sloan, 91, formerly of Chaplin, widow of Adelbert E. Sloan, died Thursday Oct. 18, 2012. She was born Oct. 26, 1920 in Providence, RI the daughter of Ralph and Mabel (Whalen) Richards. Carolyn moved from Providence, RI to Chaplin in 1956 and had been employed by Sussman Oil Co. and Lehigh Oil Co. In 2003 she moved to Maryland to reside with her daughter. Carolyn is survived by her son Ralph Sloan and his wife Christine (Marrotte) of Brookfield, daughter Lynn Sloan Dombi and her husband William of Dunkirk, MD, three grandchildren, Megan Dombi Leis and her husband Scott Leis, Alex Dombi and his wife Katie and Lauren Sloan; and two great grandchildren, Xaviana Dombi Leis and Aliasandra Dombi. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday Oct. 27th between 9:30 and 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic prior to her 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic.
