Carolyn Louise Hill Hollister

Carolyn Louise Hill Hollister, 88, of Coventry, beloved wife of 51 years to Royce Loomis Hollister died Friday March 14, 2014. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 22, 1925, the daughter of James and Freda (Langenback) Hill. She was a devoted and kind wife, mother and grandmother. Carolyn worked for many years as an underwriter at Monarch Insurance Company in Springfield, MA before moving to Coventry. She was a great outdoor enthusiast, spending her free time skiing in the winter and hiking, biking, swimming and camping in the warmer months with her friends and family. Besides her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Royce and her nephew James Tilley. Carolyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Robert Sernoffsky of Coventry; grandchildren Griffin and Julia Sernoffsky, her sister Charlotte Tilley and nephew John Tilley of Springfield, MA. Carolyn was a kind, generous and loving woman to all and will be greatly missed. There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family in a celebration of her life at the Second Congregational Church, 1746 Boston Turnpike (Rte.44) Coventry, CT on Saturday March 29, 2014 at 1:30pm.
