Caroline Smith

Caroline Smith, 89, formerly of Mansfield Hollow Rd., Mansfield, died Wednesday March 13, 2002 at the Douglas Manor in Windham. She was born May 6, 1912 in Willimantic the daughter of Ellison S. and Florence (Strong) Smith. She was a 1930 graduate of Windham High School and graduated from Mass. General in Boston as a Registered Nurse in 1934. Caroline went on to serve as an office nurse for several physicians in Willimantic. She was a longtime member of the Windham Hospital Auxiliary and of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Mansfield Center. She is survived by her sister and brother in law Helen and Ted Shaw of Brooklyn and their 3 sons; Michael, Mark and David. Caroline was predeceased by her brother Ellison H. Smith in April 2000. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00am . The funeral service will begin at 11:00am with the Rev. Lindsay Fulmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the First Church of Christ Congregational, P.O.
