Carol Ann Weinberg, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Willington, Connecticut, on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 15, 1953, Carol was the daughter of Ernest G. Swaney, Sr. and Ethel Way. She grew up in Old Lyme, Connecticut, and carried throughout her life a deep love for family, animals, and the everyday moments that brought her happiness.
Carol is survived by her beloved son, Neil Weinberg, Jr., and his wife, Christina Ann Weinberg. She also leaves her sister, Ethel Thompson; her brothers, Frank Swaney and Donald Swaney and his wife, Marilyn and their children, Mike Swaney and Deb Jones; her sister-in-law, Terry Swaney; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Betty and Mike Pietras and their children, Zoe and Alex; Karen Thompson; and Mike Thompson and his fiancée, Jennifer O'Sullivan. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
Carol was predeceased by her brothers, John Swaney, Ernest Swaney, Jr., George Swaney, Robert Swaney, and William Swaney.
Family meant everything to Carol. She treasured time spent with those she loved and found great joy in the companionship of animals. Her affection for all creatures, great and small, was a defining part of who she was and brought warmth to everyone who knew her.
Carol will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carol’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 11:00am to 11:30am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, with words of remembrance from 11:30am to 12:00pm.
