Carol Kahn Beckwith, 74, of North Franklin, Connecticut, died on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Douglas Manor in Windham after a long battle with cancer. Carol was born in Windham on November 19, 1935, daughter of the late James Kahn and Grace Littlefield Kahn. She was a graduate of Windham High School and later received her degree from Bryant University. Carol was a member of the Republican Town Committee, always loved bowling and was a member of both the WCWBA and CWBA, and was an avid UConn Huskies basketball fan. As owner of Southern New England Livestock in North Franklin for twenty three years, Carol loved animals. After her retirement, she divided her time between Green Hill, Sarasota, and her home in Franklin. She treasured her friends and neighbors, the memories they shared and their unending support during her illness. She will be missed by many. Carol is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Stori Beckwith of North Franklin; three granddaughters, Kasey, Shayna and Mackenzie; a sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Jim Miner of North Franklin; a niece, Tori Miner, nephew, Josh Miner and his wife Jeanna and their daughter, Sophie. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Nov. 11th between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The funeral service will take place on SATURDAY Nov. 13th at 10:00am at First Baptist Church of Lebanon, on the green, Lebanon. Interment will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery.
