Carmen Samual DiRosa, 80, of Mansfield, Ct, passed away peacefully on May 13.
Carmen was born February 27, 1945 in Thompsonville, Ct. The son of James and Lena (Allegro) DiRosa.
Carmen went to school in Enfield and graduated from Enfield High School. After high school, he went on to become a Barber, following in his father’s footsteps. After his career as a Barber, Carmen went to work for US Air for many years. Eventually, retiring from there.
Since retiring 25 years ago, Carmen's desire was to play golf everyday. Six days a week, he would embark on a 2 hour round trip to St. Ann's Country Club in Agawam, Mass. Carmen made many friends there and everyone wanted to ride with him. His kindness to all and his love for the game brought out the best in everyone who played with him. He achieved a 10 handicap even with his signature short putter.
Carmen was an extraordinary man who leaves behind so many people who's hearts he touched.
Carmen also had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and classic cars. He owned many of both over the years, and even built a 1937 Ford Coupe from the frame up.
Carmen leaves behind his partner of 25 years, Carol Smith and her sons Jeff Smith of Mansfield and John Smith and his son Alex of New Hampshire, with whom he loved being a grandfather to and going on trips with. He also leaves a nephew, Tom Saso and his wife Jennifer. As well as nephews Tommy and Evan and niece Hailey. He was predeceased by his sisters Marie Saso and Grace Simpkins.
At the family’s request, services will be private.
