Carmella M. Duchaineau, 65, of Willimantic, wife of Bernard Duchaineau, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Windham Hospital. She was born April 21, 1948 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Phyllis (Cormier) Surette and had lived in Willimantic most of her life. She loved her job as a cardiac monitor technician at Windham Hospital. Carmella enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking and crocheting. She also loved her flower gardens and her cats and dogs. In addition to her husband of over 20 years, she is survived by her daughter, Tina Nickerson and her husband Sperry of Berlin, her sister Pamelia Elwell of North Windham, her brother Michael Surette of Willimantic, four granddaughters, Autumn Berry and her husband Marc, Brie, Zoie and Chloie Nickerson as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Dennis. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 18, 2013 between 2:00 and 4:00 PM at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 19th at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic with assembly in the church parking area at 10:45am.
