Carlena A. (Sanborn) Adamo-Houston, 72, of Coventry, died Tuesday December 11. 2001 at the Windham Hospital of cancer. Carlena, Sandy was born June 17, 1929 on Sharon Mountain in Sharon, CT, daughter of Van and Elisabeth (Switser) Sanborn. as a young woman she lived and worked in Manchester. after she married and moved to the Willimantic area she was actively involved with the local drum and bugle corps, devoting much of her time to the youth of Willimantic. She worked for many years as a cook, retiring from the State of Connecticut in 1991. She is survived by 3 children, Candace Adamo-Evans and her husband Kevin, Michael H. Adamo and Kimberlee Young, 5 grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Saryn, Bryce and Elizabeth, 1 great grandchild, Liana. She also leaves 3 sisters, Irene Crowley, Frances Sanborn and June Lewis. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister, Gerald Sanborn, Linn Sanborn, Wayne Sanborn and Pearl Spaulding. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
