Carl B. ``Skip” Smith Jr., 70, of Columbia, husband of Diane (Mailhiot) Smith, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born in Willimantic, CT, the son of Dorothy (Hoxie) Smith and the late Carl B. Smith Sr. He owned CB Smith, a small engine repair shop. Skip enjoyed going to Block Island and watching Ultralight airplanes, which he always wanted to try and build. Carl is survived by a son, Carl B. Smith III and two stepchildren, Tammy Worthington and Daniel Macha Jr. He was predeceased by a brother David L. Smith. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 10:00am at the Windham Center Cemetery, Rte. 203.
