Camille B.
Turcotte
Aug 9, 1928 — May 3, 2026
Camille “Bert” Turcotte, 97 of Storrs passed away on May 3,2026, peacefully at home. Loving husband of Mary, predeceased on March 13, 2014. Loving father to Linda Maidelis (Tali), of Waterford, CT. Laurie Wasiele (Larry) of Storrs, CT. Grandchildren Meghan Maidelis (Kristen) of Foster, RI. Mara Harris (Morgan) of East Lyme, CT/UK. Tony Wasiele, Storrs, CT. Shelby McGillicuddy (Brandon) Storrs, CT. Great Grandchildren Emerson Maidelis, Aislin, Kenna, Kian & Beckham Harris, Declan McGillicuddy. Bert was a Korean War veteran. He worked at Pratt & Whitney for over 25 years. Bert left a legacy of smiles and friendship wherever he lived or worked. More often than not, he took on several jobs at once throughout his life. He was a railroad enthusiast, enjoyed many wood working projects, bowling, bingo at his clubhouse, wood burning, wood carving and playing “Santa”! He loved spending time with his family and sharing great memories on Cape Cod. Dad was always there for Linda’s home projects, and she loved helping him mow the lawn. He spent weekends with Laurie at horse shows, fun car rides and many dinners. Meghan shared his love for gnomes, and for various lawn ornaments. Mara enjoyed playing cards and spending time on the Cape. Tony & Shelby spent time wood burning and many dinners. He loved his dogs, Lady & Chloé, always an avid pet lover.
Last, but most importantly, was the example that he and Mary, his beloved wife, set for all his family. Nearly a century old, Bert still sparkled with joy while holding his great grandchildren. We all have wonderful memories and a lot to live with.
