Calvin S. Wilcox, 92, of Penngrove, CA and formerly of Mansfield, CT passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017 after a brief illness. Calvin was born in Coventy, CT on July 27, 1925 to Ira and Helen Wilcox and lived 83 years in Mansfield before moving to California to be closer to his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Grange, Eastern Star, the Masons and the Eagleville Volunteer Fire Department where he served as treasurer for 22 years. Calvin was a man of many talents and was always ready to help family, friends, and neighbors. He was famous for his peanut brittle, his storytelling and always had a joke to share. Calvin was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Eleanor Wilcox. He is survived by his children Alan Wilcox (Susan Parodi), Susan Murry (John) and Phyllis Baldocchi (Paul), his adored grandchildren Danielle Pederson (Nicholas), Nicholas Baldocchi (Megan Strawn), and Anthony Baldocchi and his great granddaughter Ella Pederson. He was so very grateful to have lived long enough to meet and hold precious Ella. He is also survived by his sister Alice Patenaude and sister-in-law Anne Schneider and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service and internment will be private. A public gathering in his memory will be held at The First Baptist Church of Storrs, on August 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
