Buenaventura Mateo

Buenaventura Mateo, 69, of Willimantic, died Saturday Jan. 21, 2012 at Windham Hospital. He was born July 14, 1942 in Puerto Rico and has resided in Willimantic for the past forty years. He had been employed by the Willimantic Housing Authority for twenty seven years as a painter prior to retiring. He enjoyed fishing and playing dominos. He is survived by his wife June Prescott of Willimantic, three daughters, Yolanda Mateo of Willimantic, Madeline Mateo of New London and Janet Mateo of PA; five brothers, Aristides and Israel of Willimantic, Samuel of RI, Sammy of CO and Juan of OH; four sisters, Anna Cubi, Maria Mateo, Nilsa Ortiz and Virgen Mateo all of Willimantic, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His family will receive relatives and friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday Jan. 25th between 6:00 and 8:00pm.
