Brian Perry

December 7, 1973 — June 16, 2015

Brian Perry of South Windham, CT, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Anyone lucky enough to know Brian could attest to what a remarkable man he was. He approached all things with wisdom and wit (not always in that order!) and made an impact on everyone he touched. What was considered second-nature to Brian would be nothing short of amazing and inspirational to the rest of us. Even more beautiful was the unconditional love for his wife, Melissa, and his boys, Christian, Stephen and Ryan. It was this love that gave him the strength to fight for every minute he shared with them, and with everyone, from his diagnosis in 2013 until his last breath. Brian and his devoted family showed us all what true love really is and reminds us that, at the end of the day, nothing is more important than the relationships we nurture with the people we love. Brian is survived by his wife, Melissa, his children, Christian Perry, Stephen Mooney and Ryan Perry, his parents, Patrick (Al) Perry and Sandra Dumont Perry, his brother, Keith Perry, his sisters, Lisa Perry and Dawn Perry Ford, three nephews, eight nieces, and many cousins, aunts and uncles. The most vivid memories of Brian will include many years of playing softball at Willi-Mac, rocking out on the drums with Buckwheat Jackson, many years working at Keeper Corporation and coaching his boys' baseball, basketball and football teams. Brian will be sorely missed but will continue to hold a special place in our hearts. ""A true testament to a person's character can be measured by the profound impact they have on the lives of the people around them." A Memorial service will be held at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 7:00PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Please consider donating in Brian's name to the CT Brain Tumor Alliance PO Box 370514, West Hartford, CT 06137.
