Brian C. Griffin, 41, of Lisbon, died May 16 at home. Born January 5,1962, he was a well respected ship fitter at Electric Boat, and former State arm-wrestling champion who cherished his children and loved wood-carving,fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his children, Sarah and Tyler,of Voluntown; his special friend, Robin Vuto, of Lisbon; his sister,Susan Ebenstein, three nephews, Joseph, Joshua and Anthony, his niece, Hailey, all of Stafford Springs; his parents, Arthur and Jean Griffin, of Willington; his aunt, Lee Woodworth, of Willimantic; and two uncles, Scott Pearson of Ohio, and Robert Griffin of Florida. Alcohol destroyed his body, yet he knew Jesus as his savior. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am at the Baptist Fellowship, Rte 6, Columbia, with the Rev. Jack Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in the Abington Cemetery, Abington.
