Brenda Ann (Murray) Curtis, 73, of Mansfield, went home to heaven suddenly early Sunday morning after her battle with cancer. Born on June 8, 1940 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Agnes P. Murray Sr. Brenda was predeceased by her loving husband Marvin Curtis. Brenda attended East Hartford High School. She was a retired employee from the University of Connecticut. In her retirement, she spent the last 19 years volunteering her time with The American Legion. She also was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Brenda is survived by her brother James P. Murray Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Buzzards Bay, Mass. and their three children, Bill Murray, Deanne Murray and Kelly Murray Rutledge; her two daughters,Tammie Meyers and her three children Matthew and his wife Laura of New London, Ct, Zachariah Meyers of Venice, CA and Rebekah Meyers of Storrs, Ct; Carol Baron and her husband Mark and her two children, Brandy and her husband Phil Addy who blessed her with her only great grandchild, Isabella of Sarasota, Florida, and Curtis Baron of Mansfield Center, CT ; her son Edward J. Daley and his five children, Joshua, James, Jacob, Jazmin and Ty of Northport, Florida. She was predeceased by her youngest son James P. Daley. She leaves her beloved siamese cat "baby". Her family will received relatives and friends on Thursday April 25th between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00am at the funeral home. Private interment in North Windham Cemetery, will be at a later date.
