Beverly Burr Obituary
Beverly Ann Burr

Beverly Ann Burr passed away peacefully at her home in Willimantic, CT, on November 13, 2024, following recent health challenges.  Born on September 21, 1940, in Ware, Massachusetts, Bev's warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her, especially her loving family.

Bev graduated from Warren (MA) High School, where she was a member of the girls’ basketball team. In addition to raising her children, Bev dedicated many years of service to The Hartford Courant and The Willimantic Chronicle as a valued business office associate.

In her personal life, Bev was the epitome of kindness, a woman whose generous spirit was matched only by her thoughtful nature. Her passing is deeply felt by her loving family, including her daughter Donna McNally (and husband, Phil) of Willimantic, CT, her son Rex Burr (and wife, Alicia) of Alpharetta, GA, her sisters Beryle Carey, Lois Fijol, and Janelle Morin, her brother Harold Odiorne Jr. (and wife, Pat), six cherished grandchildren, and thirteen precious great-grandchildren. Bev was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Donald Henry Burr, and her brother Gary Odiorne.

Beyond her family and work, Bev had a passion for crafts. She was remarkably skilled with her hands, and her ability to knit, crochet, and sew brought beauty and joy to so many.  Bev became known as the lady who dresses bunnies, bears, and more, and her passion was to bring smiles to all who attended the numerous craft shows over the years.

Bev's departure from this life marks the end of an era for those who knew her, but her legacy of love and craftsmanship will continue to live on. She modeled a life of quiet generosity and thoughtfulness that resonated deeply with those around her, and her memory will continue to inspire us all.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic, CT 06226. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior. A graveside will follow at Windham Center Cemetery.  To leave a memory or message of condolence, please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com .
