Betty Lou (Storrs) Squires of Storrs, CT, unexpectedly passed with her family by her side on January 12, 2012. She was born on September 13, 1947 in Middletown, CT. She was predeceased by her parents Inez Fickett and Richard S. Storrs, Sr. She is survived by her children, David P. Byrd of Norwich, CT., Jammie Lee Howell of Storrs, CT. and Patricia Byrd of Sterling, CT. She is also survived by her siblings Jacqueline Storrs Pauley of Johnson City, TN, Laurie Warmsley of Middletown, CT and Richard S. Storrs, Jr. of Windsor, CT; four grandchildren, a great grandchild with one on the way and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was a chef for most of her life beginning at The Clark House in Willimantic continuing on to Windham Hospital and finishing her career at UCONN Dining Services. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren as well as attending County Fairs. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday Jan. 17th at 1:00pm at First Church of Christ Congregational, 545 Storrs Road, (Rte. 195) Mansfield Center, CT. Private burial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to First Church of Christ, P.O. Box 36 Mansfield Center, CT 06250.
