Betty J. Elliott

Betty J. Elliott, 73, of Mansfield Center, wife of Raymond Elliott, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Windham Hospital. She was born April 15, 1939 in Richlands, NC, the daughter of William and Christine (Marshburn) Petteway and had lived in Mansfield for the past 55 years. Betty retired from the Windham Hospital after more than 25 years of service and then continued as a volunteer. In addition to her husband of nearly 57 years, she is survived by three daughters; Wanda Brand of Willimantic, Sandra Viel and her husband Bob of Ashford, and Donna Freeman and her husband Michael of Broad Brook, two brothers; Michael and Lee Petteway and a sister, Fay Wallen, six grandchildren; William and Raymond Brand, Jessica Briere and Kyle Lukens and Shawn and Joshua Freeman and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Bud Petteway and a sister Ann Minor. Her family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic.
