Betty Dunstan Obituary
Betty M. (Cole) Dunstan, of Mansfield Center, CT, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024 at the age of 95 after a brief illness.

Born February 25, 1929 in Windham, CT to Doris and Howard Cole, she lived in Mansfield for the majority of her life moving there as a young girl.  She met her future husband Ellery Dunstan and they were married on July 2, 1949 and made their home in Mansfield Center.  While Betty was mostly a homemaker, she held several jobs in retail throughout her life with her most recent employment being at The Cricket, a children’s clothing store and HLJames women’s clothing store.

She enjoyed spending time at the family property at Quassett Lake, Woodstock, CT and traveling to Cape Cod to spend several weeks there during the summer along with their annual trip to Woodstock, Vermont for their anniversary. She enjoyed watching baseball games, golf, UConn Women’s Basketball games, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  She had a love for reading, especially Amish stories, and loved to bake and enjoy her coffee on the porch.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Ellery, her brother Charles and twin sister Shirley. She is survived by her sons Ryan (Luanne) and Randy, her grandchildren Scott (Amy) and Shane (Rebecca) and her great-grandchildren Madison, Ryan and Owen.  She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Our heartfelt thanks to Colebrook Village Memory Care of Hebron, CT for enriching Betty’s life and to the staff at Mansfield Center of Nursing & Rehabilitation and Windham Hospital for their compassion and care of Betty during this difficult time.

Betty’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am.   Burial to follow at Mansfield Center Cemetery.
