Beryl W. (Wilkens) Griffin

Beryl Ione (Wilkins) Griffin, 93, of Mansfield, wife of the late Martin Griffin, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2019. She was born in Maine, the oldest daughter, to the late Earl and Helen (Norton) Wilkins. Beryl graduated from high school in 1938-1942 and then attended nursing school to become a registered nurse in 1947. She married Martin Griffin in 1948, and raised their family in Coventry. Beryl has been retired in Mansfield for the last 31 years. She was a great listener who loved people and was very active in many clubs. Beryl was honored at the state capital as a volunteer. She leaves behind her three children; Stuart M. Griffin of Mansfield, Lee Ann Keefe and her husband James of South Windsor, Nancy Griffin and Robert of Long Beach MS, grandchildren; Casey Keefe and his wife Agnes of NY, Lindsay Festa and her husband Brian of MA; two great grandchildren Nora and William Festa; sisters, Vivian, Claire, and Marsha, and two brothers Hersey and Alton. She was predeceased by five brothers, Bernal, Thurlow, Ormand, Merton and Colby. Beryl?s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am, at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am.
