Bertha “Bert” Conley Carroll, 93, of Hebron, CT passed away peacefully on April 4, 2022. She was born on January 12, 1929, the daughter of David and Hulda Conley of Highland Falls, NY. Bert worked as a telephone operator until she met and married Paul J. Carroll of Hartford, CT. A cherished wife for over 60 years and a mother to six children.
Bert’s amazingly creative spirit shone through all she did – her art work, her gardens, and her cooking. She and Paul enjoyed their years of living in Mystic, CT, often sailing together, with Bert excelling as first mate.
She will be missed beyond words, by her son, Michael Carroll of Coventry, CT, daughter, Susan Schnell and her husband Wayne of Coventry, CT, daughter, Christine Boilard of Willimantic, CT, and daughter, Pamela Trench and her husband David of Ellington, CT. She leaves behind her grandson, Jonathan Carroll, his wife Elyse, and their daughter Vayda, granddaughters Jennifer Boilard, Rehbeka Boilard, and Nicole Roncaioli and her husband Justin Dutton.
Bert was predeceased by her husband, Paul, her daughter, Kathleen Roncaioli, son in law, John Roncaioli, and her youngest daughter, Jennifer Carroll. Bert will be greatly missed by all that knew her, loved her, and cared for her at Colebrook Village in Hebron, CT, the place she called home for the last several years.
