Bernice "Bunny" Bennett, 88, of Willimantic, passed away Wednesday May 14, 2014 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband Larry Bennett. Bunny was born on January 12, 1926 in Willimantic, the daughter of the late John and Christine Clauson. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. While Bunny had no children of her own, she was very devoted to her extended family. She always said the she considered her nieces and nephews and their children as if they were her own. She was a generous and loving woman to all of her family and her many friends. Bunny was predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters, Selma, John, Frannie, Herbie, Beatrice, Oscar, Ritty and Betty. She is survived by two sisters in law, Grace Clauson and Arlene Clauson. Bunny was born and raised in Willimantic. In fact, she was born in the same house the she lived in for most of her life. She was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Bunny was employed by many local businesses, the last being the Rogers Corporation. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at 12:00pm in New Willimantic Cemetery, intersection of Rte. 32 and Rte. 6 in Willimantic. The family will then receive friends at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, corner of Oak and Summit St. in Willimantic from 1:00 to 2:00pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00pm.
