Beatrice R. Lussier

Beatrice R. Lussier, 73, of Canterbury, passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2011 surrounded by her family, her minister and his wife. She was born in Webster, MA, on March 13, 1937. Bea was the daughter of Ernest A. Richards and Gertrude C. (Chandler) Richards. She graduated from William W. Backus School of Nursing in 1958, and was employed as a nurse at Backus Hospital, Summit Convalescent Home, and Windham Podiatry Group. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur C. Lussier, whom she married on July 12, 1958 and has resided in Canterbury since 1959. Bea loved to bake, was an accomplished seamstress and an avid letter writer. She is survived by three children, Ted Lussier and his wife Kathy of Clinton, Jon Lussier and his wife Linda of Voluntown, and Bobbi Ann Orlomoski and her husband Steve of Canterbury; two brothers, Frederick Richards of Bangor, ME, and David Richards of Belfair, WA; grandchildren Nicole Bonchuk, Ernie and Andy Lussier, Melissa Vanderwood, and Caitlyn and Rachel Orlomoski; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on March 12th at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church, 29 Puddin La. Mansfield, CT. There are no calling hours.
