Barbara Elaine Whitney

Barbara E. Whitney, 59, of Willimantic, died Saturday October 25, 2003 at her home. She was born June 1, 1944 in Willimantic, the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Edwards) Whitney and had lived in Lebanon most of her life. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, a devoted reader of the Bible and had a wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by 3 sisters, Donna Nichols of Mansfield, Amelia Simoneau of Canterbury, Loretta Ausburger of Columbia, Robert Shibenski of Lebanon, Anthony Shibenski of Willimantic, William Rioux of Columbia, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Joseph Shibenski and Albert Shibenski. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd. Lebanon. A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 96 Quarry St. Willimantic.
