Barbara R. (Sawyer) Maclure

Barbara R. Maclure, 84, of South Windham, passed away on Tuesday February 28, 2017. She was born October 16, 1932 in Windham, the daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine (Kogut) Sawyer. Barbara was raised in South Windham and attended Windham High School. After graduation, she met her husband Dieudonne Maclure (predeceased) and were married on November 10, 1951. Barbara worked for Electro-motive in Willimantic for many years and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Barbara is survived by three sons Robert Maclure (Michelle), John Maclure (Joan) and Stanley Maclure (Bonnie); brother Stanley Sawyer Jr. and a sister Elizabeth Hart (Sawyer); nine grandchildren Melissa Strickett (Todd), Rebecca Rose, Katherine Prosperie (Daniel), Kenneth Maclure (Sydney), Matthew Maclure, Nathan Maclure (Samantha), Colleen Crowley, John Fitzpatrick and Christopher Fitzpatrick; seven great grandchildren Maggie, Asher and Waylan Prosperie, Kolby, Sofia and Maxx Strickett and Caroline Rose Maclure. Barbara?s family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30am to 11:30am on Saturday March 4, 2017 at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. Her funeral service will be held at 11:30am at Potter Funeral Home, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
