Barbara M Moore

Barbara M. Moore, 81, loving wife of Raymond A. Moore of 32 Lodi Drive, Storrs, died peacefully Monday with her family at her side. Barbara leaves her adoring, caring and loving husband of sixty years, Ray. Barbara was born on February 9, 1921 in Bridgeport and married on Valentine's Day 1942. Ray and Barbara spent most of their married life in Bridgeport and Trumbull and moved to Storrs in 1995. She was an active member of the Trumbull Congregational Church, a great cook, avid gardener, patient and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves also: he three children and their spouses; Roger and Elisabeth Moore, Robert and Diane Moore, and Dr. Pamela Moore and David Morse: her nine grandchildren and their spouses; Catherine and William Cook and Brittany Moore; Adam and Melissa Moore, Sarah and Darin Overton and Bridget and Adam Poturnicki; and Marc, Nicole, Michele and Brian Taney: and her two great grandchildren; Madeleine and Isabel Moore. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Millicent and Russell Dobelstein and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday October 4, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, 945 Storrs Rd. (Rte. 195) Storrs. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, 100 Warren Circle, Mansfield, CT 06268, where she was cared for with grace and compassion for her last years.
