Barbara M. Kolb, 71, of Mansfield Center, CT passed away on July 15, 2021. She was born in Manchester, CT to Robert and Adele (Chemerka) McBride. Barbara received an associate degree from Manchester Community College in 1969 and later received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University. She retired from UConn. Barbara and her husband, David, enjoyed traveling the United States and Eastern Canada to visit the National Parks. In 1974 they traveled cross country in a Volkswagen camper. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hiking, and walking. Dave lovingly called her the “peanut lady” because she was always feeding and making friends with the chipmunks in their backyard. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David Kolb; her sister Nancy and her husband Ronald Desrosiers; two nephews; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a graveside service for Barbara on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Rd. in Windham, CT. The family requests informal dress. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
