Barbara Pogmore Obituary
On the morning of Sunday, January 24, 2021, Barbara J. (Daly) Pogmore passed away peacefully at Douglas Manor Nursing Home. Barbara was 87 years old.
Barbara was born on June 6, 1933 in Wallingford, Connecticut, and was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Elizabeth [Simmons] Daly.
Barbara is predeceased by husband of 70 years, Frederick “Ted” J. Pogmore. Barbara is survived by her son, Frederick T. Pogmore; daughter Georgiann and husband Stanley Kucia of Canton; four grandchildren, Peggy A. Pogmore, Frederick E. Pogmore and wife Patty, Elizabeth and husband Jared McDonald of Simsbury, and Nicholas Kucia and wife Morgan; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin and William Beaupre, and Fiona and Jameson McDonald. Barbara is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Alice Daly, and many nephews and nieces. Barbara was predeceased by her two sisters, Patricia Downing and Rita Yale.
Barbara's hobbies included oil painting still life and nature scenes, and needlework. Barbara enjoyed entering her needlework crafts, which she designed herself, in various Grange events and fairs throughout Connecticut. She was a huge Red Sox fan and loved listening to the games on the radio. She enjoyed walks through her flower gardens while watching for butterflies and hummingbirds with her great-grandsons.
Burial services will be private. Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband Ted, at Saint John's Cemetery in Wallingford, Connecticut. Our deepest appreciation for the care, compassion and level of personal care brought to our loved ones by the nurses, doctors and staff at Douglas Manor Nursing Home, and Beacon Hospice Care.
