Austin K Jones

Austin K. Jones, 76, of Willimantic, died peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by his family, on Monday, October 4, 2004 in Mansfield. He was the husband of the late Rita (Pepin) Jones. Austin was born December 17, 1927 in Willimantic the son of James and Olive (Brown) Jones and had lived in Mansfield and Willimantic all his life. He was a member of Teamsters Local #498 and employed as a driver for many years by Nelson Transportation. He was employed for the past 17 years as a driver for Dial-A-Ride. Mr. Jones was a member of James J. Shea Post #19, American Legion and the Pulaski American Club. He is survived by 3 children, Susan Heinonen and her husband Glenn of Willimantic, Kathy Jones of Lebanon, Gary Jones and his wife Cathy of Willimantic, 4 grandchildren, Kari and Erich Heinonen, Stacey and Keith Jones, a brother, Glen Jones of Pennsylvania, and a sister Barbara Pepin of Columbia. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Richard, Stanley and Phillip. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
