Aurea Alvarez

Aurea Alvarez, 60, of Norwich, wife of Luis DeGracia, died Monday, April 12, 2010 at the W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born August 24, 1949 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Modesta Alvarez of Willimantic and the late Florito Alvarez and had lived in Connecticut most of her life. In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by two daughters, Lisa Dunnack and Jackie Rosario, both of Willimantic, four grandchildren, Joshua Michaud, Jacob, Jacian and Jaelyn Dunnack, two brothers, Eugolo and Ceferino Alvarez, and two sisters, Carmen Quintana and Dolores Alvarez. In addition to her father she was predeceased by a sister, Maria Alvarez. Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Iglesia Sagrado Corazon, Club Rd. Windham. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
