Aubrey "Jack" Haney Jr

Aubrey Johnston ?Jack? Haney, Jr., 83, born in Hartford, CT to the late Aubrey Johnston Haney, Sr. and Jessica (McKay) Haney, died peacefully on May 15, 2016 in Windham, CT. He was preceded by his wife, Jane Lounsbury Haney; his former wife, Constance Isabel Haney; his son Douglas Aubrey Haney and sister Dorothy ?Dot? Buckingham. Jack is survived by his son, David and Marilyn Haney of Marlborough, CT; daughter-in-law, Jane Haney of Selden, NY; his five grandchildren, Gina Kepler and husband Daniel of Bellport, NY, Ian Haney of Norwalk, CT, Zachary & Jessica Haney of Marlborough, CT, Bryant Haney of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Margaret ?Peggy? Keenan of Santa Barbara, CA; several nieces and nephews; his good friends Bob and Maxine, Donald and Gail, Rich and Jean of Windham, CT and of course, his dog Max. Jack served two years in the US Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He raised his family in Newington, CT and was a retired Police Officer for the town of Newington and also was retired from The International Harvester Company of Hartford, CT. A 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and 50-year member of Sequin-Level Masonic Lodge in Newington, Jack was an avid member and past Captain of the Sphinx Shrine Motorcycle Unit, in which he participated in town parades and raised money for the Shriners? Hospitals for Children, including the Burn Care Units. Jack lived in Windham, CT for 35 years and enjoyed his membership and times he spent at the Windham Fish & Game Club. Calling Hours are Friday, May 20, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte 195) Willimantic, CT and a Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10:30am at the State Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow Ln. Middletown, CT.
