Arthur Ceccarelli Jr, 88, of Willimantic, husband of the late Julia (Colasanto) Ceccarelli, passed away peacefully February 6, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in New London, CT on January 28, 1929 to the late Ettore and Josephine (Menghi) Ceccarelli. He graduated from Buckley High School in 1947. Arthur was a General Contractor with his father and operated A. Ceccarelli & Son. In 1966, he purchased Leonard Motors Car Co. which later became Ceccarelli Ford and was a Connecticut Real Estate Broker. In his later years, he was employed by Boivin Construction and was an estimator. He was an accomplished clarinet musician who received the All New England Concert Master Award. Arthur was an avid sportsman, golfer and was a member of the Willimantic Country Club. He was an active member in his community and a member of many clubs and organizations. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Italian Dramatic Club in New London. Arthur is survived by three daughters Linda J. Trent (Dr. Michael F. Trent) of Oak Island, NC, Joann Kenney (Timothy Kenney) of Bozrah and Gail A. Ceccarelli of Columbia; he leaves behind a dear friend Lorraine Burnham of Lebanon; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Arthur was predeceased by his beloved daughter Julie Ann and two sisters Sarah DiLorenzo and Virginia Savona. Arthur?s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday February 10, 2017 from 9:00am to 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, at 11:00am. Burial will be private.
