Arthur F Davoll Sr

Arthur F. Davoll Sr., 86, of Lebanon, died peacefully at the Douglas Manor in Windham on Sunday morning Oct. 6, 2002. He was a Lebanon resident for most of his life, where he owned and operated the Clock Shop. During the World War 2 period, he worked for the U.S. Government at Quonset Point, R.I. He had also been employed by the American Screw Co. and the American Thread Co. and attended Bowman Technical School. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Lebanon, a member of the National Assoc. of Watch and Clock Collectors and a friend to many. While a resident of Douglas Manor, he proudly served as the President of the Patient Assoc. and was a state appointed ombudsman for patient rights in nursing homes. Arthur lived a full life and will be remembered by many for his quick wit, endless stories and his motorcycles.He was the son of the late Winthrop and Bertha (Goodrich) Davoll and the husband of the late Pauline Davoll. He is survived by 2 daughters; Catherine Ward of Willimantic and Lillian Adams of Lebanon, 3 sons; Charles Davoll of Kentucky, Arthur Davoll Jr. of Lebanon, and William Chapman and his wife Kathleen of Lebanon, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, a sister Clara Davoll Hayes of E. Granby and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Christine Davoll Clark. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 1:00pm at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon with the Rev. Sharon Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in the New Lebanon Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Assoc., Northern Ct. Chapter, 96 Oak St., Hartford, Ct. 06106 or to the First Congregational Church of Lebanon, Lebanon, Ct. 06249. Arrangements through the Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic.
