Arthur Prentice Browning

Arthur Prentice Browning, 88, of Windham, went to be with his Lord on March 10, 2013. Born in Norwich on October 21, 1924, he raised his family in Columbia. After spending most of his retirement years in N. Myrtle Beach, SC, he moved to Windham to be nearer his family. Arthur graduated from Norwich Free Academy and was a Navy veteran of WWII. His was a machinist and foreman at Hamilton Standard. He is survived by his wife Gabrielle ("Gail") and four children, Jason and Kathy of Freehold, NJ (grandchildren Zachary, Caitlin, Caleb, Hannah), Cindy St. Martin of Windham (Jenna, Carly), David of Atlantic Highlands, NJ (Christine) and Mark; and a sister Lois Crowell of Norwich. . Arthur and Gail loved to travel and visited almost all 50 states. They very much enjoyed the excitement and activities of Myrtle Beach. Arthur attended Congregational and Baptist churches throughout his life. He taught his children the value of hard work, but not at the expense of enjoying life. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday March 16, 2013 at First Congregational Church of Norwich, 81 East Town St., Norwich. Arrangements through Potter Funeral Home in Willimantic.
