Arlene Yvanne Esty

Arlene Y. Esty, 66, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Mansfield, passed away Sunday January 30, 2005 at Elm Hill Nursing Center in Rocky Hill. Arlene was born in Rhode Island on January 31, 1938. She lived in Mansfield for many years and was employed in the 1970s and 1980s by the Town of Mansfield Board of Education. Arlene was a loving and devoted mother and friend to many. She devoted her love and energy to many community efforts, including the school system, the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, the Echo Grange and Scouting groups. She is survived by 5 children, Gail Esty of Stockbridge, MI, Frank W. Esty Jr. and his wife Victoria of Cromwell, Susan Bauer and her husband Robert of Storrs, Cheryl Esty of Harwich, MA and Joyce Doughty of Mansfield, 7 grandchildren, Danielle Austin of Hampton and Courtney Austin of Ballouville, Erin and Sarah Esty of Cromwell, Michael, Christopher and Nicole Doughty of Mansfield, a great granddaughter, Brianna Fulton of Ballouville, 2 sisters, Marilyn Mooney and Debra Johnson of RI, many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday 2/4/05 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, Rte. 195 and Spring Hill Rd. in Storrs, with the Reverend Ron Baker officiating. Burial will be private in Spring Hill Cemetery, Mansfield. There are no calling hours.
