Arija Ilga Deglis

Arija Ilga Deglis, 88, of Willimantic, wife of Janis Deglis, died Thursday March 1, 2007 at Windham Hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1918 in Latvia the daughter of Nikolajs and Lucija (Mesters) Indrans. She was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church in Willimantic, ROTA (Latvian Choir) and the American Latvian Association. Arija enjoyed painting and decorating vases and pottery with Latvian symbols. In addition to her husband she is survived by a brother Vilis Indrans in Latvia,a nephew Janis Valins and a niece Ilga Valins Baker both in Virginia and a brother in law Arvid Blodnieks and his son Juris both in New Jersey. There are no calling hours. The Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:00am at the Latvian Lutheran Church, 76 Windham Rd., Willimantic with Rev. Dace Jansone officiating. Interment will follow in New Willimantic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Latvian Lutheran Church, 76 Windham Rd., Willimantic, CT. 06226.
