Archibald Bessette

Archibald Bessette, 89, of Mansfield Center, formerly of Dayville, husband of Winifred (Hooper) Bessette, died Friday October 18, 2002 in Norwich. He was born August 19, 1913 in Waybridge, VT, the son of the late Herbert and Mary (Vinton) Bessette. In addition to his wife of 66 years he is survived by 2 daughters, Kathy Bessette of Mansfield Center and Wilma Kirkconnell of Rogers, a brother, William Bessette of Mansfield, 3 sisters, Grace Brolin of Woodstock, Maybelle Berntsen of Manchester and Theresa Berntsen of Manchester, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 children, Richard Bessette and Barbara Marsalisi. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Phillip the Apostle Church, Rte. 44 Ashford with assembly at the church.
