Antonio Mercado-Velez

Antonio Mercado-Velez, 91, of Cameo Dr. Willimantic, died Monday Nov. 4, 2002 at the Windham Hospital. He was born March 15, 1911 in Puerto Rico and has resided in Willimantic since 1975. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War 2. He is survived by his wife Herminia Mercado, 4 sons; Sixto Mercado of Philadelphia, PA., Antonio Mercado Jr. of Levittown, PA., Eddie Mercado of Willimantic and Ruben Mercado of Windham, 3 daughters; Gladys Ruiz of Puerto Rico, Marie Ruiz of N. Windham and Rose Cervizzi of Colchester, 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00am at the Christian Life Assembly, 143 Windham Rd., Willimantic. Burial with military honors will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
