Anthony Milton Marquis, 74, of Willimantic, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham. Tony was born February 24, 1938 in Putnam, the son of Arthur and Irene (Chandler) Marquis. He was involved in many bowling leagues and well known throughout the state. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving as a Spec 4 in Hawaii. Tony owned and operated Marquis Texaco in Willimantic for a number of years and prior to his retirement was employed at Brand Rex Co. in Willimantic. Tony is survived by a sister, Helen Spink of Eastford and two brothers, Robert and his wife Violet of Hampton and Henry and his wife Pat of Putnam, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five sisters, May Hetu, Ruth Sabo, Julia Bawza, Ada Colburn and Dora Marquis and two brothers, Arthur and Lawrence. His family will receive friends on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Westminster Cemetery, Rte. 14, 395 Westminster Rd., Canterbury. Please visit
