Anthony Geiger Obituary
Anthony M. Geiger (known to all as Tony), of Lebanon, CT, passed away at home on July 11, 2024 at the age of 84. He was a devoted husband to Alene (Germain) for 60 beautiful years, and a loving father to Jason Geiger (Melissa) and Nicole Geiger-Brown (Bob). Tony was born in 1939 in Newark, NJ to the late Anton and Rosemary (Conlon) Geiger. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Bonnie Yuro (Bob). He leaves his sisters Joan Jelinek (Warren) and Rosemary Dowd (Russell), grandchildren Ethan, Leah, Bella and Elijah, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

Tony had fond memories of his childhood, growing up with his three sisters, and spending summers at the Jersey Shore. After graduating high school in 1957, Tony proudly served seven years in the Coast Guard. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Alene, of Willimantic, CT. They later married and started their family there.

Tony built a career at Southern New England Telephone, following in the footsteps of his mother, who worked at New Jersey Bell for many years. He had a strong work ethic, starting at the ground floor and working his way up. He was in management in the office planning department at the time of his retirement. He was also a lifelong member of the Elks Club.

Possessing an “engineer’s brain”, Tony was able to fix anything, build anything (including his entire Lebanon home where he and his family resided from 1976 on), and teach himself anything he didn’t know how to do. He was an amazing problem solver. Always there to lend a hand or a counsel to anyone needing help, and always there to lean on during trying times - everyone knew they could count on Tony.

His personality was one filled with quick wit, humor, and above all, love for everyone in his life. Quick to laugh and make others laugh, anyone who knew Tony would tell you he was the life of the party, and had the “gift of gab”. There are many funny stories of adventures shared by all his family and friends! He was also sentimental and caring, always showing others how much he loved them. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow up.

Tony truly lived a full life, surrounded by friends and family he loved, who deeply loved him. He will be dearly missed by all, and forever in our hearts.

There are no calling hours and the burial will be private. A party celebrating Tony’s life will be held at a later date. Those wanting to attend that haven’t been in contact recently can email Nicole at nicolegb4@gmail.com for details. Friends are welcome to make a donation in Tony’s memory to the K9s For Warriors Foundation at k9sforwarriors.org
