Mrs. Annie (Tatum) Brown, of Willimantic, was called home on January 15, 2011 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on December 23, 1924 in Virginia and had lived in Rhode Island for many years before moving to Willimantic. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a loving wife to the late Ponce De Leon Brown Sr. She is survived by three children, Leon Brown Jr. and his fiancAC. Bernice Wilson of Willimantic, Miyoshia Beatrix Brown of Providence, RI and a step-daughter, Irene (Brown) Custis of Philadelphia whom she loved and cared for as her own. She is also survived by a sister, Mae Clark of Philadelphia and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, the Stigler family and friends. We all love her but God loves her best. Mrs. Annie (Tatum) Brown was a nurse's aide for children for many years and also a spokesperson for the Department of Children and Families kids. She lived a long and happy fulfilled life. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
